Preseason Q&A with Coach Josh McLendon
Preseason preparation has been fantastic. Getting to play Cambrian Ridge has been a blessing and a terrific opportunity for our players to develop.
Q: What are your expectations for the upcoming season?
A: I expect each player to become the best version of themselves. We are building a foundation, and we want to take advantage of each day to try and achieve our goals.
Q: How have preseason preparations been going for the team?
A: Preseason preparation has been fantastic. Getting to play Cambrian Ridge has been a blessing and a terrific opportunity for our players to develop.
Q: What are the team goals for the program this year?
A: Our team goals are to be competitive in each tournament we play and learn from our mistakes. We want to be playing our best golf in the Spring.
Q: Who are the emerging leaders within the program?
A: Jace Calhoun, Jackson Bailey, and Chaden Lucas have been great. Each player brings his own strengths to the team, and I have lofty expectations for them all.
Q: What freshman player has impressed you the most so far? What do you see as his/her role on the team this year?
A: Jackson Bailey has played well in qualifying and has been our most consistent so far. I expect Jackson to compete in each tournament we attend and continue to progress as a player.
Q: What do you hope to achieve in the first season?
A: I hope to build a foundation of student-athletes that love to compete and take advantage of the great opportunities they have been given.
